What is a Multi-School Agreement?
A Multi-School Agreement allows students at small high schools to participate in CIF sanctioned sports at their high school of residency.
Why is 69视频 discontinuing this program?
The primary reason we are making this decision is to improve competitive equity for all of our CIF athletic teams. A Multi-School Agreement requires us to count the entire enrollment of all students (athletes and non-athletes) involved in the agreement, which can result in some schools competing at a higher division level, putting them at an unfair disadvantage. Additionally, our data has shown that only about 40 specialty high school students were participating in the program.
What if my student is already participating in a CIF sport while attending their small high school?
Students currently enrolled at our small specialty schools will be allowed to compete on these teams through graduation. This change will only affect students entering 9th grade in the 2025-26 school year and beyond.
Does this mean students at small specialty high schools can鈥檛 compete in athletics?
No. 69视频 believes that athletic opportunities are important for our students, and we offer a comprehensive intramural program between our district schools that can be expanded to offer more teams at our specialty school sites. It is also possible for a specialty school to be a CIF School. If CIF Membership is something that the school community supports, there is a process to make that happen.
What is a specialty school, or small high school?
Our specialty schools are smaller campuses that offer specific academic opportunities. These schools include: American Legion; Arthur A Benjamin Health Professions; Capital City School; George Washington Carver; Sacramento New Technology Early College; School of Engineering and Sciences; The Met Sacramento; and Umoja International Academy.
What is a comprehensive high school?
Our comprehensive high schools offer traditional programs and will continue to offer interscholastic athletics through CIF. These schools include: C.K. McClatchy; Hiram Johnson; John F. Kennedy; Luther Burbank; Rosemont; and West Campus.
