Sacramento City Unified School District Approves 1300 Campaign Resolution

Sacramento, CA - Sacramento City Unified School District (69ÊÓƵ) is a proud supporter of the 1300 Campaign, an initiative led by Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT), the Sierra Health Foundation, My Brother’s Keeper Sacramento, and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The Campaign aims to send an additional 1300 young men of color (YMOC) to Sacramento State and UC Davis by 2025.

Sac City Unified to Distribute Five N95 or KF94 Masks to All Students

Sacramento, CA - Sacramento City Unified School District (69ÊÓƵ) will be distributing five (5) N95 or KF94 masks to every student in the school district. This is in addition to the distribution of N95 masks for all staff members which took place on Friday, January 14. Typical N95 masks fit children of middle school age and older, while the KF94 masks best fit younger children.

69ÊÓƵ Receives Shipment of 149,540 N95 Respirator Masks from State of California

Sacramento, CA - Sacramento CIty Unified School District (69ÊÓƵ) has informed it’s schools that they will be receiving a shipment of N95 masks from the State of California via the Sacramento County Office of Education on Friday, January 14. Each school site will receive enough N95 masks to issue 20 of them to each staff member, along with contracted providers, volunteers, substitute staff, and also a backup supply for on-site needs.

Sac City Unified is Acting on Governor’s Executive Order to Streamline Substitute Teacher Emergency Credentials

Sacramento City Unified School District (69ÊÓƵ) is actively recruiting newly eligible substitute teachers thanks to a new state Executive Order to streamline the process for substitute teacher emergency credentials. This Executive Order will increase opportunities for more members of the public to serve in our classrooms. 69ÊÓƵ schools have 39,759 children spanning grades kindergarten to 12th grade across 70 campuses citywide.

Sac City Unified Seeks Impasse Determination to Resolve Issues Impacting Continuity of Learning During the 2021-2022 School Year

Sacramento, CA – Today the Sacramento City Unified School District declared that it has reached an impasse in its efforts to negotiate with the Sacramento City Teachers Association (SCTA) over issues related to reopening schools for in-person instruction and independent study during the 2021-22 school year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The district has submitted a request for an impasse determination from the Public Employment Relations Board.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Students and Staff Approved by Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education

Sacramento, CA – The Sacramento City Unified School District took action at the October 12 Special Board of Education Meeting to require vaccinations against COVID-19 for both staff and eligible students (ages 12 and over) by November 30, 2021. 

The process to submit vaccination records, or to file an exemption for medical or personal beliefs, will be announced later this month for those opting to undergo regular routine COVID-19 testing.
