Supports We Provide

69ÊÓƵ’s SSC’s provide a spectrum of integrated support that spans the areas of youth development, family services, academic enrichment, health and mental health.  Targeted primarily to low-achieving students, SSC services address critical student needs that pose barriers to learning.  Services include:

Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC)

Students who have been victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE) face additional challenges in the school setting. Our work is informed by survivor and youth voice with the goal of providing prevention and intervention services so that no student falls through the cracks. Using trauma informed practices, all at-risk or identified CSEC students within 69ÊÓƵ have access to the following services:

Overview

Each spring, 69ÊÓƵ joins schools, families, and communities across the U.S. in celebrating #MayIsMentalHealthMonth. During the month of May we intensify our ongoing efforts to raise awareness around mental wellness, and stop stigma around mental illness. We encourage all 69ÊÓƵ staff, students, families, and community members to join us in honoring May is Mental Health Month!

For questions, concerns, or complaints related to Section 504 Accommodations

504 Accommodation Concerns or Complaints ((28 CFR Section 35.107(b); 34 CFR Section 104.7(b))

At times, there may be concerns about 504 Accommodation assessments or implementation of plans.  In the event this occurs we encourage school staff and parents/guardians to bring up these questions or concerns at the school site level. If concerns continue or a resolution cannot be reached, please reach out to the District 504 Coordinator, Noel Estacio at 916-752-3230 or Noel-Estacio@scusd.edu for consultation and mediation.

Overview & History of the 69ÊÓƵ LGBTQ Task Force

In 2003, Sacramento City Unified School District community members lobbied the district to place an emphasis on meeting the needs of LGBTQ+ identified youth. In response, the district passed Board Resolution 2355 (2004) to demonstrate the support of school safety for this population of students.
