Wood Middle School tonight 鈥� Wednesday, March 8. A sixth town hall will be held Thursday, March 9. Both meetings are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.

His books and influence on young readers far and wide is recognized each year by The National Education Association (NEA). To celebrate reading and honor Dr. Seuss, the NEA established Read Across America Day on Dr. Seuss鈥� birthday as an annual nationwide celebration of reading.

Jan. 25, 2017 (Sacramento): Decades-old Kit Carson Middle School is looking for a name to match its students as the campus evolves into a high school.
Kit Carson Vice Principal Rich Haley who serves on the committee charged with bringing recommendations to the Sacramento City Unified School District said the group has begun gathering input from the community. 鈥淲e want to know what the community wants 鈥� whether we should adopt a totally new name or only tweak the name by dropping the middle school designation,鈥� Haley said.

Sacramento City Unified School District鈥檚 Board of Education voted unanimously Thursday to designate 69视频 schools as 鈥渟afe havens鈥� that protect students regardless of immigration status.
鈥淪tudents cannot learn in an environment of fear,鈥� said Board Vice President Jessie Ryan. 鈥淟ast night, by unanimously passing the Safe Haven School District resolution, our district made a strong statement that we hear our community鈥檚 fears and will do everything in our power to protect all students irrespective of race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual preference or immigration status.鈥�
