20-Day Challenge for Attendance Awareness Month

This September marks the start of Attendance Awareness Month, and we’re thrilled to introduce our 20-day attendance challenge!

We encourage all school sites to participate in this campaign by organizing activities emphasizing the significance of regular attendance and informing families about the negative effects of chronic absenteeism.

Our is available to help you plan and energize your school community around these efforts.

Attendance Champions

Each month in the 2024-2025 school year, the school with the most improved attendance rate (a year-over-year comparison) will be awarded the Attendance Champion belt to display until the following month. The Attendance & Engagement team will deliver the belt to your site and the Communications team will take photos of your office staff with the belt to celebrate your school’s achievement in the Sac City Scroll and on social media.

We will honor two extra award subcategories with a trophy after September’s 20-day challenge, in addition to the most improved attendance rate championship belt award:

  • School with the greatest decrease in chronic absenteeism from last year
  • Schools with a 95% attendance rate or more
